An academic project to introduce the animation of a walking cycle.

In order to challenge myself and make the most out of the practice, I developed a full animation by following a clear concept and working in post production to obtain a polished, final piece.

“Surprise” is the concept that brings the animation together, enhaced and also backed by the contrast between subject and aesthetic treatment.

THE CONCEPT

an otherwise ordinary walking cycle became an interesting communication challenge…

SURPRISE.

Meet Isadora

To support the surprise concept, all the elements where carefully tailored to enhace the contrast among the the shiny, divine glamour of a catwalk opposed to a displeasing swamp mosquito.

Final touches

To create the illusion of a more tridimensional space, a parallax effect was introduced by separating the background in layers. On top of that, some color corrections emphasized the cohesion of the palette, and the transitions made the animation more interesting, smooth and pleasing to the eye.
