Opening titles for the drama series “Versailles”

Light, gold, precious stones. Versailles golden delight orbiting around Louis the Great.

It is “golden delight” the theme chosen for these credits of the Versailles series.
The excess and horror vacui from the era guided the art direction, together with a kaleidoscopic effect that resembles the shining of jewels and precious metals.

Contrasting those delusions of grandeur, the typography selected was a historically accurate Garamond.
